Treatments for Expression Wrinkles
Expression lines are skin folds that appear following repeated movements of the facial muscles, such as smiling, frowning or squinting. Over time, these muscular contractions leave visible marks, particularly on the forehead, between the eyebrows (frown lines) and around the eyes (crow's feet).
Dr Loïc Bosser, practicing in Rouen, offers effective solutions to reduce these wrinkles, mainly through injections of botulinum toxin and hyaluronic acid.
Botulinum Toxin (botulinum toxin) Injections
Botulinum toxin is used to temporarily relax the muscles responsible for expression lines. By blocking the release of acetylcholine, it prevents muscle contraction, thus smoothing the skin's surface.
• Targeted Areas: Mainly the forehead, frown lines and crow’s feet.
• Duration of Effects: Approximately 4 to 6 months, with possible persistence depending on the individual.
• Safety: Safe procedure when carried out by a qualified professional.
Hyaluronic Acid Injections
Hyaluronic acid is a substance naturally present in the skin, used here to fill wrinkles and restore lost volume.
• Targeted Areas: Perioral wrinkles, nasolabial folds and other areas requiring filling.
• Duration of Effects: 6 to 12 months, variable depending on the type of product used and the area treated.
• Advantages: Immediate volumizing effect and deep hydration of the skin.
